Adding a Pricing Zone

Adding a Pricing Zone

Creating a pricing zone allows you to set specific prices for different regions, currencies, and Incoterms. Here’s how you can add one:

  1. Click on ‘Add Pricing Zone’.
  2. Name your pricing zone. Give it a name that helps you easily identify the region or group.
  3. Select the currency for that pricing zone.
  4. Select the Incoterm that will apply to this zone. (Learn more about Incoterms)
  5. Choose the continents, countries, regions, or states where this currency and Incoterm apply.

How Pricing Zones Work

  • One currency, one Incoterm?
If you’re selling to all your markets with the same currency and Incoterm, you only need one pricing zone.

  • Different currencies or Incoterms?
If you sell in multiple currencies or use different Incoterms depending on the region, you’ll need to create separate pricing zones. Each pricing zone you create will add a new column for prices for each product.

What Prices Do Buyers See?

When you add a buyer to your address book, they are automatically linked to the pricing zone that includes their country. However, you’re free to assign them to any other pricing zone if needed.

  • Buyers only see the prices linked to their pricing zone.
  • Changing a buyer’s billing country won’t affect the prices they see. Prices are tied to the pricing zone alone.
  • If you want to change a buyer’s pricing zone, you can do so as long as there are no open orders. *⚠️

General Guidelines

  • Default pricing zone:
By default, there is one global pricing zone for all countries. We recommend creating your own pricing zones and deleting the default one when it no longer suits your needs.

  • Moving countries between pricing zones:

    • If a pricing zone only contains one country, you can delete the zone and move the country to a different one.
    • If the zone contains multiple countries and you only want to move one, first create a new pricing zone for that country, then remove it from the original zone.
  • Excluding countries where you don’t sell:
Create a pricing zone for these countries, and leave the price column blank in the product details. Buyers from these countries won’t be able to see your products.

Special Cases: Agents and Pricing Zones

If you have agents who sell in specific regions, and they need different prices from your regular countries, you can create a separate pricing zone just for them.

⚠️ Important Notes

  1. Buyers and pricing zones:
When you add a country to a new pricing zone, any buyers in that country will remain linked to their previous pricing zone. If you want to update their zone, you’ll need to do it manually:

    • Go to each buyer’s profile in the address book and change it individually, or
    • Use bulk editing from the contact list (filters will help narrow down your selection).
If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to contact customer support.
  2. Visibility of your styles:
Once you assign a country to a new pricing zone, buyers from that country won’t be able to see your products until you add prices for them again in the new zone.

Heads up! This action is final and cannot be undone.
