Instant Messaging Explained

Instant Messaging Explained

Instant messages enable you to communicate instantly with both customers and team members (other users added to your account – Learn more about adding users). If the recipient isn’t online, they’ll receive your message by email. Also, you can add attachments to your messages as needed.

Navigating the Messages Page

On the Inbox page, your conversations are organized into two tabs for easy access:

  • Buyers: Displays your message history with customers, including sent messages and their read status.
  • Team Members: Shows conversations with team members or messages handled only by you.

On the right side, there’s a History timeline that provides a record of previous activities, such as order confirmations, invitations, and message statuses.

Assigning Messages

Messages are attributed to the first user who opens them. To ensure a user has access to instant messaging:

  1. Go to Roles in the main menu.
  2. Confirm that the user’s role includes the See and edit permission.

Notifications

Each time a buyer sends a message to a brand, distributor, or agent, an email notification goes to the account owner to inform them of the new message.
